Lead Children’s Teacher

Topaz Aleah Davis | founder, owner, and lead instructor of Island paddle bliss

200hr E-RYT, 28hr Children’s & Family Yoga, 25hr SUP Yoga, 14hr Meditation Guide, CPR/First Aid Certified, Lifeguard Certified

Hello parents! My name is Topaz and I’m the lead children’s teacher for my annual keiki summer SUP camp here at Island Paddle Bliss. I have over 15+ years of experience working with kids originating from my background as a professional ballet dancer. I began teaching children’s dance classes part-time while dancing professionally and loved it so much that I later branched out to children’s and family yoga and created my own children’s SUP yoga curriculum. My vision for this camp is to provide a fun and uplifting activity for your children to connect with other kids on the island and spend the summer together outdoors on the water.

FAQ

  • Ages 6-12 years old are recommended. However, if you have a child that is outside of this age range that is interested, please inquire and I will share the current registered ages for you to consider.

  • Yes. Ages will be divided into two groups of 6-9 years old and 10-12 years old for SUP and Yoga classes, as well as creative activities. This way the children will better connect as a group and enjoy age-appropriate interaction and instruction.

  • A beach park located in the Honolulu area. Location will be announced in the spring.

  • Absolutely! SUP Yoga is not just for girls. Boys will have a blast with the yoga and paddle boarding.

  • All children MUST know how to swim in order to participate. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions that can be made to this requirement for both insurance and safety purposes.

  • No. This camp is for all levels of experience and is a great introductory for children who have never done yoga before.

  • A beach towel, water bottle, hair ties, sunscreen, baseball hat or sun hat, sandals, swim suit and/or rash guard, and a change of dry clothes.

  • Island Paddle Bliss is Oahu’s original for-profit Keiki summer camp and is unfortunately not at this time priced to match the rate of local non-profit organizations that are heavily subsidized by the City and State or funded through donors and grants. This rate is fairly priced to account for expenses, fees, and value as a for-profit small business.

  • For families in need of additional support, I am happy to accept limited financial aid opportunities. To inquire, simply send an email to info@topazaleahdavis.com.

  • Cancellations requested up to 21 days of the start of the camp are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made up to 14 days of the start of camp are eligible for 50% refund. Cancellations requested within 13 days of the start of the camp are eligible for a future credit or a 25% refund.

On behalf of the company and its staff, cancellations will only be made due to either minimum enrollment (5 children or more) not met, extenuating circumstance, or severe weather, in which case you will be notified within 72 hours of the start of the camp and refunded in full.

In the event of bad weather on any given day, the day will be rescheduled or moved to an indoor facility.

Due to the nature of this industry, refunds and credits are not granted once the start of the camp has begun.

  • I am a certified and insured yoga instructor, SUP specialist, and lifeguard with over 15+ years working with children. Island Paddle Bliss is accredited through the Yoga Alliance with commercial ocean and land permits through the City and County of Honolulu and The Department of Land and Natural Resources.

  • Yes. I hire 1-2 female assistants to help with additional supervision, equipment management, ocean safety, bathroom runs, lunches, and more. All assistants will be announced in your welcome packet upon registration.

  • Each day runs 4 hours from 8am-12pm. A full detailed itinerary and welcome packet with pick up and drop off policies, liability waivers, and more will be sent out one week prior to the start of the camp.
